Biopharma employment figures in UK

In the UK, the biopharmaceutical industry continues to represent an important employer for high value jobs. The ONS provides data for “employees by jobs” which provides a robust sampling and methodology and the best approximation of employment in the pharmaceutical industry in the UK.  The number of employees in the UK in 2016 was 63,000 with 24,000 dedicated to R&D.
